Retake SAT II Physics with 680?

Only 2 schools that concern me are Univ. of Southern California and UCSD. I got a 790 on the Math II and 31 ACT. I know the math and ACT are good enough, but will they freak out when they see that monstrosity of a physics score?

It's not a monstrosity of a physics score. :)

Why are you torn between taking/not taking? If you've been regularly getting higher than 680, and since there's a gap between that an your other SAT II score, you should retake. Otherwise, 680 is hardly awful.

I am hearing that that is only the 60th percentile. I am torn because of the cost of retaking and because it might look bad compared to retaking the SAT I. I should mention I used Sparknotes to study. Really screwed me over because 90% of it is stuff that isn't going to be on the test. The book read like my textbook. I am going for Barron's Physics next round if y'all give me the green light.

If you think that you can do significantly better, then go ahead and retake it.

But how much would a 750+ score improve my admissions chances?

Personally, I wouldn’t stress it, but then again that it my own opinion.

I think a 750+ put you in a different group with better probability. Just my 2 cents. Most colleges group scores as follows:

800 - 750
740 - 700
690 - 650
640 - 600

So by getting a 750+ you move 2 steps higher but only if you don't already have another SAT II to replace the physics one.

I got a 700 and I was ecstatic about it. 680 I definitely not bad, I wouldve been happy over anything with a 650.
