Retake SAT instead of SAT IIs in June?

My daughter got her SAT scores this morning. They were much lower than she expected. 690 CR 640 M 670 W. She got a 214 PSAT and a 31 ACT. She was going to do SAT IIs in June. Should she retake SAT in May and June instead of doing SAT II in June? For the May test she won't have any time to study because its right after 2 AP exams. Should she just take the SAT in June and not May and take SAT IIs in the fall? Everyone says not to take the SAT more than 3 times. She wants to go to NYU. Would the 31 ACT possibly get her in if the SATs don't improve? Thanks.

I think 31 will do what the SATs didn't.

Check the admission deadlines for the colleges you want to go to. Be careful about waiting till summer for SAT IIs if you're applying early. I have this same problem. I'm doing RD to most schools, so I've decided I'll retake my SATs and then take the SAT IIs in late summer.

However, keep in mind that if she hasn't taken the SAT IIs yet, it might be a better idea to take them, just so she can have a choice of what to improve when next test-taking time comes around. Good luck in whatever course of action you pursue.

Thanks for responding. I dont think they offer SATs or SAT IIs over the summer. I think the earliest is October and they would get the scores for ED. Are you retaking in May or June? Also she has one SAT II (Am Hist - 730) and some schools don't require them especially with an ACT.
