Retake SAT or take two Subject Tests?

As for my testing history:

March 2015: Statewide ACT - 32 (35E, 29M, 32R, 33S)
June 2015: SAT - 2080 (680R, 710M, 690W)
June 2015: ACT - 33 (34 E, 30M, 34R, 34S)

So I don’t think I’m going to take the ACT again because I’m happy with the 99th percentile and I’ve heard that 33+ all carry about the same weight on an application (if you care to comment on the merit of this statement feel free). But, having taken part in the flawed June 6th SAT administration I am eligible to take it again for free in October. I was wondering if I should forget the 2080, keep my 33, and take 2 subject tests or retake the SAT and do the subject tests later? I will for sure be taking the subject tests at some point (which would be Nov. 7 if I take the SAT in October, is this too late to be considered by admissions?). Also, if it matters, I will definitely be taking math 2, but I am unsure of the second test’s identity as of now. I am going to order the CB book with all of the subjects in it and perhaps that will help me decide. I only got a 2 on AP Chem so I don’t think I want to do chemistry, and a 3 on Bio so maybe I’d try biology E. Thanks for any input!

Did you take the ACT with writing? Where will you be applying?

I got an 8 on the writing, but combined with the 35 english that’s a 31 E+W which is in like the 99th percentile I believe, for E+W. My reaches are Ivies and a few LACs on the east coast, plus USC and Berkeley, possibly Pomona. Other than that, UW Madison (match), U of Mn twin cities (safety), and a couple in TX that I’d consider safeties. I’m going to visit U chicago, Northwestern, and Loyola next week then California in August so maybe I’ll add or subtract a few after that.

Im wondering the same :stuck_out_tongue: I also was a part of the June SAT screw up and got a 2000 but I got a 32 on the ACT. I was wondering whether I should take advantage and do the oct sat for free or forget the SAT all together and just focus on ACT.

@Archlion I looked at your threads. Dude… can I have your math and you can have my English then we’ll both be great!

@smithemi97 Lol haha yeah I noticed that too, I’m jealous of other people’s english scores :stuck_out_tongue:

Honestly, I don’t understand why I can’t do well on the math. I used to do competition math in middle school which is like the same stuff and same format. I wish you could just retake single sections of the standardized tests…
