SAT I: 700CR 700M 790W
SAT II: 760USH 690M2 620Physics

I plan on going into engineering (recent change of plans hence the lack of preparation). I'm applying to UC's, CMU, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Princeton, Reed, Rice, Stanford, W&M, USC, UMich, Northwestern, and Vanderbilt. Already accepted at UIUC and GA Tech.

Agh. That’s a hard choice. Nice job with georgia tech and uiuc.

If your schools have score choice and don’t require subject tests, I’d go for the reasoning test all the way, as it is the more important of the two.

However, if the subject tests are required, it’s a bit more difficult. Getting a 1400/1600 to a 1500 would help quite a bit. Your M2 score would be easier to ignore and your USH score is great already.

I’d focus on the reasoning test.

Thanks! I heard that the reasoning was far more important than subject tests, and I was hoping to cancel out my M2 scores with a higher Reasoning Math test. :)

Does anyone else have a different opinion though?

My other self suggests taking the ACT and then retaking the subject test.

To maximize the range of score types you can improve.

I think if you’re planning to go into engineering, retaking the Math/Sci Sat IIs would be a good idea, and I agree with Philovitist, if you’re not happy with your SAT reasoning scores, then take the ACT. I don’t think using January for the SAT reasoning test is good use of the testing opportunity.
