I took it in December and I was considering retaking it.... Should I
?
The first time I received an 2210 total... CR 780 M 700 W 730
I would only try to raise the math score... Super happy with the other two.... Schools I'm thinking about U of Chicago, UCLA, USC, Boston College, Northwestern, UCSD

You cracked 700 on all sections. I wouldn’t bother retaking.

Might be worth it to hit the 2300-2350 range, but not if it comes at the cost of GPA or ECs. At least for bs/md programs, there is a difference between 700 per section and having a 2300+ score.

Neoevolution,

For the people you have talked to that have gotten interviews for bs/md programs, do most have 2300+ SATs? Are there some that get in with 2100 - 2200 SATs?

Thanks

If you look at school’s common data set, you understand it’s a widespread myth that higher scores don’t help. That one you pass 700 per section, or any other number other than 800, it doesn’t matter. A close look shows that at every highly selective school, you have a much better chance with a 750 than a 700 and a much better chance with an 800 than a 750.
