Retake SAT?

So SATs for January came back and I’m just wondering if I should retake. I got a 2270 but that’s with an 800 CR, 800 Math, and 670 Writing. Should I retake it just to see if I can get 700+ in Writing?

Nah dude, after 2250 colleges already categorize you with 2250+ applicants. Youre all in the same ballpark. The test is ephemeral and there’s no real reason to invest more time with that great of a score…IMO

Probably not. I mean it’s up to you. If you want to do it for yourself, fine. But writing is partially phasing out. You’ve gotten a 1600! That’s perfect and your score on the 2400 scale is great too.

In general, writing tends to be the least looked at score anyhow. As long as your essays prove you have a reasonable amount of writing ability, I think you’ll be just fine without taking one. A 1600 is absolutely incredible, in my opinion, so it’ll come down to your personal preference as to whether you should retake.

Your scores are pretty amazing already. I think it depends on how you plan on studying for the writing section— you could do grammar practices and vocabulary, but if writing is not your strength you might have to work at it a little. I guess it really is just your personal preference if you want to get up there or not; it’s already pretty high.

Thanks everyone.
I guess if writing is the least valued section, it’d be better for me to spend my time on subject tests than trying to improve my writing.
