Should I retake the SAT? I know scores are often superscored in college, but if I do well on the first one, should I retake it to superscore even higher? Will that work against me or for me?

My first time was a 2360 (770 math and 790 reading). I know I can definitely get an 800 math next time but other two scores may drop ~50 pts total. Is it worth it to take it a second time? How much do colleges care about the last 50 points? Please answer truthfully cc...be as blunt as you possibly can...

oh and...just for reference, I really want to get into HYPMS, so telling me that 2360 is a phenomenal score is just bullcrap because all the top people applying there have around there or higher. I am Asian and have weak hooks, so i'm in a really competitive arena here...

Omg, I can’t believe somebody said that 2360 and 2400 isn’t a big difference. When you get to high scores like that, a mere 10 point difference is huge. Yeah, you should really try again, and even if you don’t hit 2400, you better make sure you get 800 on Math, so that schools can see that you are actually capable of getting a perfect score on math, your weakest section. By the way, 770 = 1 wrong right?
