Retake SAT

I'm a perspective math/physics major, and I superscoring the SAT I have: Math 800, Critical Reading 760, Writing 710. I know that the Math and Critical Reading are fine, but how about the writing? I really don't want to take it again, but if I did I'm pretty sure I could boost my writing score to at least 750+, as I didn't study at all for it this time.

If you feel you can significantly improve your score, then take it again. Your score right now is a 2270, which is very good (it’s what I got myself, after taking the SAT 4 times also). So, I think your current score is fine, but again if you feel you can improve your score, then feel free to take it again.

I’ve taken it twice, and I really don’t want to take it again, because I don’t want to study for it. However, if a better writing score (750+) would significantly improve my “chances” I would be willing to retake, otherwise I’ll just be content with what I currently have.

I don’t think increasing by 40 points in writing will significantly alter your chances… will it help, very slightly? Yes. Instead, though, I’d invest more time in a specific EC or something else that helps you to stand out in the applicant pool.

I would retake it. The writing section is the easiest to improve in a short period of time.
