Retake SAT1 or SAT2 ?

Hello everyone! I've been reading this forum for sometime but have not posted anything yet.

I am an international student and about to apply to MIT. I took my SAT last year and got very low scores (450-690-410). My English has improved a lot because I lived in US for a year as a part of an exchange program. I took TOEFL iBT this summer and got 109 which I am satisfied with. My SAT2 are 740 for MATH II and 700 for Phy. While my subject tests are good I think I can get 800 and 760 if I study harder this time.
I am also planning on applying to Princeton and University of Michigan. People say that as long as your SAT 2 are higher than 700 you should be fine, but do you think I should try to improve my subject test scores or retake my SAT 1? I will be submitting my TOEFL to all the unis, but only MIT does not require sending SAT1 as well. What should I do now in your opinion for my January test that I already registered for.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I personally think your SAT2 scores are fine (MIT just wants higher than 700). It might be a good idea to retake your SAT1 to pull up those 400s, especially if you think you can do much better now that your English has improved.

Take SAT I.

Definitely SAT1. Besides the English scores (which clearly need improvement) you also might want to try to get the math section above 700- your 690 is quite low for MIT, and while your MathII score demonstrates proficiency you do want to avoid any conspicuous gaps in your record.
