I scored a 2330 in one sitting (770 M, 760 CR, 800 W), but I've taken the SAT three times and my superscore is 2390 (800 M, 790 CR, 800 W). As you can see I'm pretty inconsistent on each part as I can't score close to 800 on all three parts in one sitting. I've heard a 2350+ is basically considered a 2400, so do you think it's worth it for me to try to get that score in one sitting by retaking? I'm aiming for mostly HYPS and other top privates.

No, you’re perfectly fine.

Almost all schools superscore, you’ll look like a freak/gradwh0re if you retake.

Nice, that means I won’t have to go through 3 1/2 hours of hell again.

no, u should deff. retake
because u fail at life

…

Thank you for an utterly worthless post that adds nothing to my question.

thank you for an utterly worthless thread that adds nothing to CC

Why is it a worthless thread? It’s a legitimate question that I want to know the answer to. Please think before you post.

getting perfect scores does not guarantee a place in top schools. Now you need to work on the other supplementaries..

why do schools even superscore?

^^ Yes, I know that but it certainly wouldn’t hurt.

As for why schools superscore, I kind of ask myself the same question. It’s good if most schools do for me in my case, but it kinda defeats the purpose of putting everything forward into one sitting.

You asked if you should retake a 4 hour test, for a fourth time to boost your score from a 2390 to a 2400. How is that not a worthless question. If you are that smart do you actually think it matters, if anything it may look badly that you obsess about and seem to care about nothing other than this test. 3 times is the limit and your score is ridiculous anyway

yeah, what kind of thread is this? I hope the OP is not purposely starting this simply to boast about their score.

It is an easy and logical decision to make when wondering whether or not to spend another $30 and 4 hours to improve your score by 10 points (especially when you’re at a 2390)

if you enjoy taking the SAT and have money to spend, i say go for it.

I asked if I needed to retake a 2330 to a 2350+ to be considered “basically 2400.” I did not post this thread to boost my self-esteem. I didn’t even know if most colleges superscore.

Please just let this thread die.

Your wish is granted.
