Retake SATs?

I'm currently a junior going to be applying for very competitive schools next year (probably MIT EA) I took the SATs this year and did well, better than any of the seniors in my school in fact, but I'm not sure if I should retake them next October. I have a lot of things that would make me at least noticeable to them, hindered only by the fact that a lot of my big in-school ECs don't have leadership positions (Our Sci Oly team doesn't have a team captain)

I got CR: 770 M: 750 W: 800 on my SAT

I'm not sure whether I should retake it next year. My math score will definitely be below average for say, MIT, but not out of their range. I will almost definitely get an 800 on the Math Level 2 SAT II in June though.

So will 50 points on the math section make a difference in heavy Engineering schools, or would my time be better spent polishing Essays etc.

Also, applying to schools like HYPSM, is First-Generation College Student useful enough to stress at all on my application, or is it basically useless?

Math on SAT I is a piece of cake; if I were you, I would retake. The other sections are great.

i think it could be worth retaking, spec as mit is such a math school, and your worst score is math… im not saying its a bad score obviously :stuck_out_tongue: its a great one, but is probably worth trying to hit an 800 :)
