Retake the SAT - yes or no?

Hi everyone,
I’m aiming for schools like Brown, Vanderbilt, and Princeton, and I was wondering if my scores were high enough to give me a fighting chance. I’ve taken the SAT twice and actually gotten a 1540 both times, embarrassingly, receiving a higher math score the first time and higher reading score the second. This means my superstore is a 1570; however, I don’t know if I should consider a 1570 or 1540 my “real” score (in the case of the latter, I’d probably retake it).
Thanks!!

I’m not an expert (I’m also going to be applying this year too) but other people have told me not retake it (I think I will tho since I already signed up). I also have a 1540. This is a link to the one where people told me not to retake.

I wouldn’t retake it - most schools superscore, and even if they don’t formally say they do, they’ll recognize your abilities. A 1570 superscore is great!
