Retake the writing section as well?

<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>I am planning on retaking the ACT in October, but I am wondering whether I have to retake the writing section as well. I got a 10 on my first writing test, which I was very happy with, but I am not sure if colleges will take this score along with the score from the October test (assuming I receive a better score). Will only colleges that superscore the ACT accept the writing score from a separate test date, or will all colleges accept this score?</p>
