Retake Toefl??

I'm a little surprised, I got the lowest scores on the sections I thought I did better.
Mostly confused about the writing score. I got a 2.5-3.5 score on the integrated writing task which I think is too low. According to the rubrics, even if one major key point was omitted then the score would fall between that range. I guess I thought that as along as I write correctly (and a lot) I'll be fine. I got a 4.0-5.0 on the independent writing task (why do they give it in ranges?..) so that saved my total writing score, but colleges can see the break down right?

I'm thinking about taking it again, but I have so many other things to do that I'm trying to decide whether or not it's necessary. For some schools I won't even have to send a TOEFL score because of my SAT score. (Not the highest but makes some cut-offs for exemption - 630CR 700W 670M). Maybe I better take the SAT again instead?

Don’t worry about it. The TOEFL is normally a pass/fail thing: as long as you score above the requirement, it doesn’t actually matter what your score is.

I don’t think anyone will dissect your TOEFL writing score. Your SAT writing score is fine, and it will be evident from your application essays whether or not you can write.

Above 100 is good enough. I think 100 and 110 don’t really differ, since TOEFL score is not the main feature of an application. With the score of 102 you will surely be able to skip some required language courses for international freshmen.
