Retake with 770 Bio E and major in science?

Hi everyone. My May SAT II Bio- E was 770. Should I retake? I am planning to go to a private and major in a field of science, most likely Bio. I know most of you will say NO but I would like some opinions. Thanks.

if you know with absolute certainty that you will get an 800..than think about it

Ladros: you probably won't need to retake.
770 is at most 2 questions away from 800 so it's a small difference.
Also you could get lower on retake!

Yeah, seems to me that 770 is too high to risk a lower score upon retaking. It also depends on your other SATIIs and their scores. Is 770 your lowest or highest, etc? Because, for example, I didn't retake a 750 Lit b/c I had a 790 USH and 800 Chem to sort of mitigate for it (in my own mind anyway). Just my opinion.

If you do retake you should take Bio M because it is much harder and it is the one that colleges look for.

I'm going to major in biology (concentration in ecology), and I didn't even take a biology SAT II. I took the Chemistry SAT II and got a 750. It didn't hurt me at all.

Coming from a prospective Biology major myself, I advise you NOT TO RETAKE that sat ii, 770 is MORE than sufficient.

yeh i'm like warbler, i'm humbio at ucsd and i never even took an sat or ap in bio. i had a freshman bio class, and a senior year marine bio.

taking the sat1s more than once is fine.. but taking a sat2 more than once is kind of a joke.. i mean its more straight forward, leniant, and is pretty much just subject oriented. so if u improve, its like hello why didnt u get that last time(unless u took 3 sat2s in one day, which no one recommends.)

and a 770 won't hurt u at all. i think that once u get over a certain number its not really taken into consideration(im guessing like 750 for most and maybe 790/800 for math2c for the elite colleges.)

WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU RETAKE A 770? USE YOUR BRAIN

to me that would be very stupid but if you wanna be influenced by people here on CC than go right ahead...wow

holy crap people. A 750 and an 800 are weighted practically the same

yea i would take another science sat ii like chemistry or physics. well, definately chem at least. you need a chemistry background even if you are majoring in biology. after all, we live in a molecular world, not a world of just animals, plants, people, ect. so don't retake

what about retaking a 770 in World History? Or taking another SAT, like Lit, to make up for it? I'm gonna be a history major, and ironically I got 770 WH (freshman year) and 800 on Chem this year. Science makes me cringe and I have to work really hard at it (don't like it as much as humanities), and I hate math with a passion. Is it sufficient, if I want to major in history? (It looks weird, doesn't it?)

STOP asking stupid questions

Definitely retake, an 800 would increase your chances greatly. I think that those 30 lost points could prolly get you into wherever you want to go.
I mean let's get serious here, a 770 is pathetic....in fact, it's downright stupid.

Just my caustic opinion for those that are obsessing. Don't retake, a 770 is a great score.

770? did you guess on all of them? Definitely retake...

Did you take Bio E your freshman year? If so, colleges won't be sure if you actually remember biology, so it is a good idea to retake (Bio M if you have taken AP Bio).

I got a 740 on BIO M. I'm going to be a bio major. I got into a college. So you should be fine. If it makes you feel better, I got into MIT, Columbia, and Stanford.

I agree with hihihi1368: take Bio M instead of retaking the SAT II Bio.

i think the blatant hostility is really uncalled for. I have toyed with the idea, and wanted constructive opinions, rather than barbs. Opinions and perspectives differ, and I think you will have to confront that sooner or later.
