Retake??

i'm a junior, and i really want to go to notre dame. i got a 35 on my ACT but my SAT is lower (1480/2150 with a 800 math and 680 CR). i've only taken each one once. without considering EC's and such, would these scores be enough? i will send both scores in so that they will see my SAT II's (which i haven't taken yet), but will my SAT I's make my ACT score look lucky? i know my ACT is above the range, but my SAT CR is low. should I retake to make my CR and writing higher?

there's no harm in retaking it--you might get a better score, and admission is so crazy that it might just make it a bit safer.

hopefully 2160 is enough--lol i got a 2170 and i'm really hoping to get in. but you might as well try for a bit higher if you can.

and i suggest taking your sat IIs now--i made the mistake of waiting for the last moment, so i couldn't retake. i think it's best to take everything more than once if you can (just my personal experience--in my case, my sat i score went up 100 points on my second take.) every little bit helps.

gracias eruanneth

I disagree actually. You can if you think you would do better but they will take the higher of the two, and the 35 should be good enough I would think. That is just my opinion, however.

Don't retake. I had similar scores and got in EA. 35 ACT and 710CR 800M on the SAT. In addition my GPA is probably much lower than yours is so I really see no point in a retake.

Focus on some SAT II's, even though ND says they don't require them. Other than that just make sure you have solid EC's and try to have a rising trend GPA (if possible).

Agree not to retake. A 35 is practically a perfect score, and the 1480 is great on top of it. Way to go!

thanks everyone

any other opinions??

Send in your ACT- a 35 is amazing.

thanks shellzie

I got in EA as a Notre Dame Scholar with a 33 and a 2290. Retaking would be ridiculous. Spend your time and money on more important things. Send the ACT, and I'll be shocked if you don't get in (unless there is some other major problem with your application).
