i have taken it twice already (1st time skipped section; second time hard curve) and my overall scores are M710 V700 W750 E12. Should i retake it a third time and does anyone know the best month to take it in? (Bear in mind that i am applying to the ivies; i have everyhting else set except this)

You will be ok with that. Many schools (particularly Ivies) are notorious for turning away even perfect scores because they choose to evaluate someone beyond something like the SAT. Look at the decisions threads in those forums. Many people with scores in the 2100s (and lower in some cases) got accepted while others with 2300ish scores were waitlisted or rejected. Nothing is going to guarantee and Ivy acceptance, especially an SAT score. I think that your score will be just fine in an Ivy applicant pool. You should start developing your application in a way that will distinguish you personally. Nonetheless, if after considering what I have said and what the decisions thread show, you are still insecure about your score, you should retake it. If nothing else, you will at least have peace of mind. Best of luck.

Crashingwaves is right. I know a guy who got in the 2300s and got rejected from everywhere except Texas A&M. Don't make the mistake he did, don't think your SAT score is everything, and take the application seriously. On the other hand, my friend with a score of less than 2000 worked hard on his application, got a good recommendation, and ended up getting accepted to Princeton.
