Retake???

June SAT:
CR: 680
Math: 740
Writing: 800 - essay-9
TOTAL: 2220

June ACT:
Reading:33
English:34
Science:34
Math:36
Eng/Writing:32 - essay 9
COMPOSITE: 34

Should I retake the SAT, ACT, both, or neither? - I'm not really sure about what colleges I'm looking at yet...

I'd say that you should sit on your very good ACT scores and think about retaking the SAT only to get the Critical Reading score up...2220 is a great composite score, but your Math/CR score (the more important number) is a 1420...still very, very good, but below the 2220 average.

Decide on the schools you're going to apply for before you decide whether to retake...it might not be necessary.

Are you in high school class of 2008? I don't see any mention of SAT II (SAT Subject Test) scores. Your ACT score is ample, nationally.

<a href="http://www.act.org/news/data/06/pdf/National2006.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.act.org/news/data/06/pdf/National2006.pdf</a>

(table 2.1)

A lot of colleges that care about standardized test scores will be looking for SAT II scores. If you have time to make a good effort on those, that would be time better spent than time on an SAT I retake, in the circumstances you describe (in my opinion).

You've seen my general post on retakes, right?

you probably don't need to retake.
your scores are good already.
only retake if you know you could easily go up significantly.

Do you guys feel like taking the SATs three times is too much?
