I plan on retaking a differential equations because I got a B. I can retake it and have the prev grade replaced and pretty much cruise thru the class getting an A b/c the only reason I got a B was cause I overslept for a test. Which one would look better taking diff eq as a freshman and getting a B, or as a sophomore and getting an A?

Also, regarding online classes, do they look bad when applying for grad school? I want to take some of the core classes online so I can free up time, are they harder online?

Online classes at my school are not singled out as being online classes. They can be harder because there is no face-to-face interaction with fellow students and Prof (so I find them less inspiring). Also, they require more self discipline, I think. But they need not be significantly harder if you are organized about them.

What do you want to go to graduate school for? If you are into something academic (i.e. a PhD), you might be much better off to invest your time into upper-level coursework or networking with professors than to retake a freshman course you got a B in. If you are applying to programs that care more about GPA than experience (e.g. law school), by all means retake every B you ever get.

well I’m already doing research, and I have time to retake them while doing research experience because I got most of my core classes thru AP credits.

You should check as to whether you can even retake the class. The universities I attended would not allow grade replacement unless you got a D or F.

oops I accidentally posted on my friend’s acc above, didn’t see him log on here. We can repeat&delete 10 credits. The old class will be permanently deleted and no one will know about it except me.

Can someone answer my question “Also, regarding online classes, do they look bad when applying for grad school? I want to take some of the core classes online so I can free up time, are they harder online?”
