Retaking a Calculus course

I'm right now studying in a communty college in WA. My major is Architecture and I had maintained a pretty high GPA(above 3.8). Everything was going fine until last week when i MISSED my Cal II final, eventually getting a 2.5 from that class. I have heard that some schools won't allow you to retake unless you fail the class. So I talked to my counselor about that and he said that I CAN retake the class( I know some schools don't) To my knowledge, my new grade will cover my previous grade but it will be shown on my transcript that I had retaken that class. (But at least my GPA won't be dragged down) I am confident that I will get A from my Cal II retake and Cal III too. But will this 2.5 greatly affect my chance of transferring into good universities, even if i retake it and ace all the remaining Calculus classes?

I work in a WA CC (Everett), and yes, you can retake a course to replace a grade, even if it is not a failing grade. If you want to transfer to UW or another competitive school, you should definitely consider retaking the calc class.

Have you spoken with the calc instructor to see if there is any possibility for a makeup final exam?
