Alright, so I'm getting a D (a high D but a D nonetheless) in Honors Precalculus for first semester of junior year. I'm switching into Regular Precalculus next semester which is supposed to be FAR easier than the Honors class, so I'm hoping to make a B in second-semester Regular.

I'm really worried about this D, especially since all of my other grades have always been all As with the occasional B, and I'm trying to figure out ways that I can lessen the effect of this D. I know that a D is close to failing and that many top colleges will automatically reject me for getting one.

I want to retake Precalculus at my community college this summer, and try to earn a high grade in that.
Will this help make the D in first-semester Honors Precalc seem less bad? Since I can't get the D off my transcript, do you think colleges might ignore my junior-year Precalc course and look at the grades in the community college Precalc course instead?
Are there any other ways I can redeem myself after getting this D? I'm just freaking out because pretty much all my dream colleges are so very tough to get into, and a D is NOT going to help in that regard. :/
By the way, I do not plan to major in anything math-related in college and my overall unweighted GPA before the D is a 3.92.
