<p>Currently I have a C- in German and it's leaving me very frustrated. The class is 5 credit hours and is doing a good amount of damage to my GPA. I still have all of my exams which will be used next year, so getting a higher grade shouldn't be a problem. Can/Should I retake the class? What happens to my transcript if I was to retake the class?</p>

<p>im not 100% sure, but I think you may have to withdraw or fail to retake a course...</p>
<p>It all depends on the school. At some schools (mine included), you can retake a class in which you've made a C- or lower. And schools differ on what they do on your transcript with a retake as well. Some schools just replace the grade, some replace it with a notation that this was a retaken class, and some have other methods as well. You can probably call the registrar at your school and they can answer these questions better than we can.</p>
