In grade 11 English, I had a teacher who just hated me. I tried my best, but I only got a C (70%). This is a sudden drop from my tenth grade English mark (90%). However, I was ****ed off, took summer school and upgraded my mark to an A (92%).

I just found out, though, that both marks 70% and 92% will be on my transcript. Should I explain to Cornell what happened? Will this be looked upon negatively?

Hi jrcho... my son had a similar situation - he'd failed Health (which was only a one marking period course) in his junior year. He made it up by taking a Red Cross course. Although he received 100s on both of their tests, he was only permitted to receive a C on his transcript, however, the original failing grade is still on his transcript - although we were originally told it would be REPLACED by the C. Now we are told it is "school policy" to not replace, only to add the better or passing grade.

In any event, we are still trying to fight this (due to the fact that we were told - several times - it would be replaced)... BUT, some people on this board have responded to my concerns about how it will look on his transcript, and most seem to think it'll be alright, because he made it up - in your case... you received an A (FANTASTIC!!!)... which is a MAJOR IMPORVEMENT!!!

Best of luck to you!!

Just curious how do you fail Health?
