Retaking a Perfect Math II

Hey guys,

For My SAT IIs, I got a 800 on my Math II and sub-800s on my other two subjects. I foolishly signed up for the December tests before I even received my scores. I'm retaking my other two subjects but what do I do for my Math II?

Should I just sit out of my Math II test? Can I take another SAT II subject test instead? Or will the Math II go in as a 0 if I don't take it???

Thanks for helping!

You can actually just tell the people at your test center that you’re not taking that third SAT, come December 1st. That’s all there is to it, I did that with chemistry and it worked :)

I would just take it for fun. They will charge you anyway. Isn’t there score choice if you bomb it?

As Frosh2013, just tell your proctor that you don’t want to take the Math II subject test. It will appear as if you never signed up for that subject test. There will be no penalty besides the loss of the money you paid to take the test.

I disagree with SATnotACT. Why take it for fun? That makes no sense. Many schools don’t have score choice for subject tests so schools will see all of your schools. Re-taking a perfect score would like ridiculous and would probably reflect negatively on you. OP, please do not take this advice, lol. Plus, why would you waste the time and effort? There is no benefit to re-taking it…

In May when I took subject tests, I was signed up for lit because my counselor wanted me to (I still don’t know why, it would have been my 4th one), and I decided not to take it so I could focus my studying on the other two I was taking that day. I didn’t even have to tell anyone. They just say “If you are only taking one (two) test(s) you may leave now,” and you go. You will be charged but you don’t get a 0 or anything on the test you skip.

I wouldn’t take it again. There’s no reason to do it, and you have to send all tests from that day. That means that if you get lower than an 800 but want colleges to get the scores from your other tests that day, they will see your sub-800 score as well.

Actually, The College Board will let you take any test. For example you could switch your Math II to US History or something. Or Chem physics English whatever. You can even add tests at the testing center (since it comes in one big booklet). Although if you did that, they’d charge you later of course.
