Retaking ACT, but without writing

So I got a:

Composite: 33
Math: 34
English: 34
Science: 31
Reading: 31
Essay: 12

Because I already got the 12 on the essay and I just want to boost my composite score, do I just take the test again without writing or do I absolutely have to do it?

Thank you.

Well, if the schools you’re going to send it to require writing, you need to take writing again too. If your school would accept both tests, then writing is probably unnecessary, though, if you intend to send both tests.

What you have remember is that writing is not a separate test. It’s part of the ACT you take on that date. It’s possible that some colleges might let you send it in as a separate test, but I think they usually want you to keep the multiple choice and writing together.

You need to take the test with writing, every time, in my opinion.

Thank you very much guys. I’m applying to Ivys and top tier schools so I should just retake it with writing then.

Just have to say…

A 12 essay? That’s freaking amazing.

Thank you :)
