Well, for the June ACT, I received a composite score of 26 and a combined English/Writing score of 30 (12/12 on the essay). Given that you are allowed to superscore on the ACT, should I bother retaking the ACT with the essay again on September 11th, or is it really not worth it? (I haven't signed up for it yet, but I know that I will be taking it again to boost my composite) I'm just not sure because I don't know if some colleges and universities even ALLOW you to submit superscored ACT's.

Most colleges only look at your best ACT and SAT scores. Even though they are able to see all the scores you submitted, they will probably take into consideration your superscored ACT’s. So, yes, take the ACT again to get a higher score. It will mostly likely benefit you.

Would it be more of a benefit to take it with or without writing though?

if a college requires you to take the ACT with writing AND superscores, they would require all sittings that you submit be with the writing section…

congrats on that AWESOME essay score!!!

Alrighty then, looks like I’ll retake it again but with writing. I guess there’s nothing to really worry about since there’s always a chance I could score a 12 again, though it’s a longshot…and it really depends on the essay topic. Thanks everybody.

And rodney, thanks for the compliment. It was a bittersweet moment given my composite. :P
