Just wondering if it would be worthwhile to retake the act/sat after being in college. I was always under the impressions those are not taken into consideration.. any thoughts? My intended schools are:

UCLA, USC, UT-Austin, UFlorida

I'm retaking mine, there may be some schools that I'm applying to that won't look at them but I also just wanted to prove to myself I can get a great score, as the first time I took it I didn't study or care at all.

I'm also going to take two SAT II's because a few of the schools I'm applying to, like Cornell and Brown, require or strongly recommend them.

I would say that the majority of schools will at least look at them and if you're trying to get into an ivy or similarly competitive school it's almost a must to have a great score.

what did you get in HS?

a 21, i went in not caring with the worst hangover of my life haha... I am positive i can get a very high score now.. I just don't know if it would be worth it.. but I kind of want to try to have a bit better shot at my reaches (and far reaches) if it makes me more competitive.

I want to maybe put in app to UVA and Gtown.. I have never taken SAT, do you think it would be smart to take both?

For the ACT, only the highest score is sent, correct? Could you just send the ACT you're about to take. I really feel that I could bump my Act Composite a few points.

Steve, It's not the highest score that is necessarily sent, however, you have the option of sending the highest score. Unlike the SAT, which shows every test you have taken, you only have to send one ACT score of your choice.

That would make sense. Of course, who would want to show their lower score?
