So last year I made a 4 on AP Chem...the highest in my school's history. (I go to a tiny school in the middle of nowhere) My chem teacher really wants me to retake the exam this year because she thinks I could make a 5 (because last year we didn't cover kinetics/electrochemistry and she thinks if she teaches me that then I'll do well.) and blah blah blah...

My quesiton is: if I do worse, do colleges take the highest score or the last score?

I don’t believe that you can re-take an AP Exam

you can but I wouldn’t unless you really need a 5 to get credit at the college you plan to attend

Unless you’ve been keeping up with your chemistry, constantly applying it or reviewing it, don’t bother. A 4 isn’t that bad, and retaking it after a year of no chemistry might only exacerbate the issue.

yeah, i was pretty confident in my chemistry last year… and am going to be a chem major

but i definitely wouldn’t be able to pull a 5 on the exam again this year without a very good review… i remember most stuff, but i’m still rusty.

so i hope you’ve been reviewing =D

I hope you can retake tests. I’m taking AP Calc BC and Latin Virgil this year, both self study. If I do poorly, I will want to take them again.
