Retaking Calculus in college

I've taken Calc AB, Calc BC, Calc 3, and am currently taking Differential Equations. However, my uncle has told me on several occasions to retake the entire Calc series in college (I'm going to UCLA this fall). I intend to retake Calc 3 and maybe Diff Eq, but I feel like it would be a waste of time to retake Calc 1 & 2. What should I do?

By the way, I got a 4 on Calc BC & AB sitting, and a B in Calc 3. (A's in AB & BC)
I'm also considering taking a Calc 1 class at a community college this summer, but I'd still want to skip Calc 2 (which is just integration+infinite series- which I'm pretty much reviewing in Diff Eq right now) and go to Calc 3.

Here is what you can do:

Go to UCLA’s web site: UCLA

Use the search function to search for the following: “math 31A final exam”, and the same for 31B, 32A, 32B, 33A, 33B.

Use the final exams you find to check your knowledge against what the UCLA math courses expect students to learn.

If you know the material well, skip the course if you have credit for it. If there are only small gaps in your knowledge of the course, you can self-study the small gaps. If there are large gaps in your knowledge of the course, retake it.

Where did you study them??

Thanks for the response! I’ll try that.

& I took the classes at a community college.

You can use [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) to check your community college’s course articulation with UCLA.

I wouldn’t retake CALC AB and BC unless you completely lack confidence in the information you retained.
