Retaking Calculus in College?

I'm currently in calculus ab, and I am sorry to say I am doing quite badly. I am majoring in a subject that requires lots of math, and was wondering if I should re-take Calculus my freshman year, regardless of how I do on ap test?

Is it common for students to re-take calculus their freshman year to get a strong basis before moving on? Or does everyone pretty much move onto Calc 2?

I think many students do this anyway. In fact, I know a student who was the sal of his class that retook Precalc in college, though that of course was not his choice. He just didn’t do so hot on the placement test.

I got A’s both semesters in BC and am still doing it. (got a 4 on the AP exam)

What are you majoring in?

I would think it doesn’t matter too much anyway. Colleges usually have a placement exam of their own.

Am majoring in Computer Science.
