Retaking Class

Hi, so brief explanation of my situation. I am a recent transfer students in UCLA. I took 3 classes in my first quarter and has been doing great except in one of my accounting minor class.
I wont be able to drop the class because I am an international student so I need to maintain at least 12 credits. Additionally, adding other class for replacement is already too late.

So, my plan right now is to intentionally fail the class and retake it next quarter. I am sure that I will get an A (It is not overestimate) if i retake it.

My standing right now is C-, and even if i work my ass off in the final, i would only get a maximum of C since the final only worth 25% of my total grade. (I was fall behind the curve)

So, do you think it’s better to have C in your transcript and hurt your GPA, or intentionally failing the class and retake it for an A?

The university’s policies is to replace the retaken grades, so the D/F wont affect my GPA but it will still exist under my transcript.
I am not planning for grad school. But does it affect a lot when you apply for jobs?

Work for the C. Then you won’t have to retake the class. There is no guarantee that you would be able to get an A in a future term. With the C you will be able to move on in your program and you won’t have that ugly D/F on your transcript to fret about.
