Retaking classes affect transfer admission into UofM?

I’m currently in the middle of my second semester of CC, and I’m not doing too well in my Pre-Calc and Econ classes. I want to retake these classes this summer to replace them for my GPA.

I got a 3.21 my first semester, and I’m going to get As in my other two classes that I took this semester.

Any feedback would be highly appreciated!

If they’re required for your major that could be an issue.

Thank you for the response!

I do plan on taking Calc, Calc 2, and the next level Economics courses while I’m here at CC. I figure that doing well in these classes would help deflate the impact of doing poorly in Pre-Calc and Econ.

check to make sure the schools you are thinking of transferring to will count the retake. The UC schools, for example, will not count a retake of any class in which you got a C or better.

If UofM is Michigan, be sure to check their transfer credit web site. Michigan is relatively stingy with transfer credit, so it may not be a very good option to transfer to, since you may have to retake a bunch of courses after transfer.
