Hi i am currently an architecture student at a CC and I wanted to transfer after my sophomore year at this CC. I am currently about to finish my 2nd semester of my freshman year. During my 1st semester i didn’t do the best and i ended up getting 2 D’s and 3 A’s and for my second semester i am planned to get 3 A’d and 1 B as it looks right now. My next semester i wanted to retake my 2 D classes to change my gpa because my college allows retaking any class to replace the bad grade. i was wondering if those 2 D’s from the first semester will matter when transferring to a university if i retake the classes and get a better grade like an A or B. i really want to transfer to UIUC or IIT if tha will help!
Forget about how it looks, you are going to have to retake them regardless, if you want to transfer.
Labegg is right, from my knowledge, most colleges won’t accept grades lower than a C for transfer, so at the moment they do nothing but weigh down your GPA and leave a nasty mark on your transcript. Get those fixed ASAP.
If you can repeat them and do much better, it sill certainly look better for you when your transcripts are evaluated.
