i heard after getting a d in a class, you can retake so your grades for the class would "average" out (but the d would stay on your transcript)

is this truee? would i have to take it the quarter right after??

i got an f in a class too and i have to retake it, i’m freaking out

You can retake the class to average a D or F with the next grade you get GPA wise. However, the D and F remain on your record.

If you retake a class your Fall quarter GPA will stay the same (so you can still get academic probation). But your overall GPA will change once you have completed the class the second time.

Watch out though because there is a limit to how many units you may retake over your 4 years of undergrad.

what if you retake a class you got a C in?

I think you can only retake a class that you got a D or an F in.
