So i’m currently a sophomore and I didn’t think to retake my geometry class over the summer to boost it to an A. Is it possible to retake that class this upcoming summer or is the first summer your one and only chance to retake that specific class? Thanks!
I’m a sophomore and I also need to retake geometry (I earned a D last year) but lucky for me I have Florida Virtual School which I plan on using for Geometry next semester
Anyways this is a question you should ask your guidance counselor.
Sweet thanks for the reply, are you going to be taking it again next semester during the school year or over the summer because i’m assuming your in algebra 2.
Yeah I’m in Algebra 2. I plan on taking it next semester during the school year since FLVS courses run year round.
Random people on the internet cannot help you with this. Our school doesn’t allow retakes just to boost grades, unless you failed of course. You need to talk to your counselor because no one here can know what your school policy is.
To be quite frankly honest you should never, unless failed, retake a class to get a higher score. There are countless other classes you can take that would help you a whole lot more. If you got a B or C perhaps you already know the entire course and other classes would be a whole lot more useful. For instance in your situation instead of getting no credit for taking the class again you can take Ap Psychology or another Ap course or elective. The more credits the more colleges look at you technically because if you retake every class you will barely pass with a ton of extra credits. Colleges want to see well rounded students and retaking courses (my belief) is just a waste of time when you can be doing so much more. I do not know if you are allowed to retake a class for a higher grade however. I have never heard of such a thing but there is always a chance for everything. Just take the next math course which for you will be Algebra II. Hope this helps
