Retaking classes?

Alright, so I’m currently a sophomore going into my junior year next year. my W GPA for this year will be a 3.9, and my unweighted is a 3.3. I could work with this, however my UW GPA from freshman year is a 3.0 and W is 3.3. I basically bombed bio honors in freshmen year, and this year I got horrible grades in geometry.
what I want to know: if I got a C in a class (bio) can I retake this class through FLVS and if I get an A, can this replace it? I know this might be up to my school, but I just want to know if that is possible at all before I ask and look silly.
also, even if I get all A’s the next two years, my weighted GPA will be a 4.2 and my unweighted will be a 3.57 :// so I feel like I’m pretty screwed.

any advice? thanks!

It depends on your school, so you should ask your guidance counselor. Many schools would just average the grades rather than allowing replacement, and colleges would probably still be able to see the old grade on your transcript.

Yeah, I agree with the above poster. Unless you can get it removed from your transcript, the grade and class will still show up under your freshman year. I doubt your guidance counselor will remove the class entirely, but I’m not sure how your school works with these things. Retaking and doing a lot better may help you, but it is just your freshman year, and if you do well during your sophomore and junior years, your transcript should look okay.
