I have to retake a physics class I received an F in due to personal reasons. Its my only F, but I was not able to get into a physics class for spring. Now its summer and from the looks of it I might not be able to find a physics course to add. (But I will petition). I plan to apply for transfer in fall 2012 for fall 2013 and I was wondering if I am unable to retake the course by the November filing period, but would be currently repeating the course would that hurt my chances for admission? Or would I just update the new grade come the grade update in January?

If you are able to take it in Fall, it shouldn’t hurt becuase you have update for Fall grades and they will not evaluate your application until you do. Leaving it to Winter or Spring is probably not a good idea becuase they won’t see if you’ve passed the class, and therefore might feel it’s too risky to accept you.
