retaking SAT for tranfer feasible?

I know I've posted in other forums about my horrible SAT Score of 1680(I know, feel free to laugh and point point fingers) but I'm set on transferring to a better school, I've already got my life together in college I'm a current freshman on course to have a 3.8+ gpa at the end of this year and will probably be closer to a 3.9 by the time I transfer as a junior.

The thing is I know for a fact that I can do much better on the SAT, in fact I could have done better at the time; I didn't study for it whatsoever and I was just trying to get the 6 hour test over as soon as I could. I'm pretty confident that with a little studying and actually doing my best at a retake I could raise my score by at least a couple hundred points, if not more.

The biggest thing I have against me right now is my SAT, my HS GPA isn't stellar either but it isn't going to matter much with my solid college GPA and applying as a junior. Heres a quick assessment of my stats.

HS
GPA: 3.2 (not really sure exactly it's been a while)
SAT 1680
No ECs

College: ****ty UNC system school...
3.8 GPA (will be higher by the time I apply for junior transfer)
ECs: next year I will have some leadership positions in a few clubs like Pre-law and Business and Law soc. as well as some decent volunteering.

If it helps any I will be applying for UNC(in state) and Virginia and likely a few other similarly ranked schools as well as a high reach.

thanks for any advice

I asked this same question in a near by thread, almost the same situation. your best idea is to call the school directly and ask. When I talked to reed they said "we will take the highest score, in or out of highschool" where as NYU says pretty much they are looking for your highschool SAT scores. it can't hurt as I've been told and found. careful with UVA though, I believe it is 70% in state.

Yeah, I realize how tough it is with UVA especially for me but it is my dream school and I'm willing to take the chance on it. i really think the only school I will have a solid chance at is UNC considering I'm in state, it's still a great school but for business there are few better than UVA.

I was looking towards business as well, UNC-CH has a really great business program (kenan-flagner, or something like that) too so dont worry about that, it's a very well respected business program.

Cool, thanks for the advice. Keep us updated on your progress with transferring as I'm sure i"m not the only one with questions about it. :D
