Hello! I am currently in CC wanting to transfer by Spring 2015. I have a few months until deadlines approach so I do I think I need take the SAT within the next 3 months if I am going to retake it.

I was wondering, does anyone see worth in retaking SAT for better chance of getting into colleges as transfer? My current highest score is in the 1500's, and some of the colleges I am looking at require it as I don't yet have enough credits to forgo doing so.

I am looking at Fordham as a top choice; I went to an information session and was told I didn't have to retake the SAT, because even though it is required they will focus more on current and in progress college credits.

Barnard college is my reach school to transfer into; I am aware this is super competitive so I am curious if it would benefit me to retake the SAT.

I am pretty lost as to how to substantially get my score up though; is there any suggestions? My weak point is the math section. Writing is my strong point. I didn't really spend much time studying during high school when I took the SAT so I am not sure how I should go about studying now.

What should I aim for--somewhere around 1850 right? Perhaps this is too high of an expectation for someone weak in math?

Also, what about the ACT? Should I take that too? I am not familiar with the ACT.

I am under the impression that if I retake the SAT and show huge improvement, my chances for schools would increase.

Thank you greatly anyone who takes the time to read and/or respond!!
