Retaking SAT vs. Taking SAT II's First

I'm a rising senior this year and I'm looking into applying to Wellesley ED or RE.
My gpa is on the lower side (~90 uw, ~95 w) as is my 2130 on the SAT (740 CR 700 M 690 W).
As of right now I have no SAT II scores that I would be willing to send in to colleges.
If I decide to apply ED, Wellesley's application deadline is November 1st, meaning that I have two potential SAT or SAT II test dates left, October and November. The November scores will obviously be submitted after I have submitted the rest of my application. I was looking into taking the US History and the Math 2 SAT II's in order to boost my chances of getting in.

Should I focus on the SAT or the SAT II's? Are scores sent in November given less weight than those taken before the application deadline?

I’m not sure about the answer to your second question, but to your first, I’d probably go with the SAT IIs. They’re a way to demonstrate your proficiency in what you consider your best subjects, so I think it makes more sense to focus on those primarily. Then, if you also want to retake the SAT, you can worry about that after you have the more pressing concerns taken care of. (However, I’d like to note that your current SAT score is perfectly good as is, so I really wouldn’t stress about it! )

I agree with Mariecc1. Wellesley requires two SAT subject tests so you might want to take them in October and send the scores in for ED. You can retake the SATs in December and send the scores to all your schools. Even if you get defered by Wellesley ED (which hopefully won’t happen), the admission committee is going to review your application again for Regular Decision and they will then see your December SAT score.
I’m applying ED as well. Good luck!

^why give in december? OP mentioner he has two dates for SAT. October and november. To my knowledge, november scores are sent. But which to give first is the question. I too am retaking the sat and giving sat II’s in october and november. Havent decided which to give first. Might go with SAT I

muhammad9211, I don’t think the admission committee accepts any score later than October. If OP has to take it after October, why not December? It’s still before RD deadline.
Plus, I’m pretty sure OP is a “she”.

I was referring to ED. Yes, if applying RD, then might as well take the sat in december.

ED accepts november scores as the latest

“If you plan to apply as an Early Decision applicant, we strongly recommend that you complete the tests before the end of your junior year or no later than October of your senior year.”

I shall rephrase that. It is strongly recommended rather than required.

Your SAT scores are fine. Why would you retake that test when you say you don’t have any SAT II scores you think are good enough to send? You should make taking the SAT II tests a priority so that you will have your scores in time to apply ED if that’s what you decide to do.
