Retaking SAT

How many times you can retake the SAT and if there are any, which can you retake more than others?

You can retake the SAT many times (up to about 8 times per year). I wouldn’t recommend taking it more than 3 times though.

Why would you not recommend it? And how much is the cost of retaking the SAT?

It will look very bad on your college apps. Don’t forget, some of your colleges will require you to send in all of your scores. They will then have a full page of redone scores. It also might imply, in my opinion, that you did not prepare for the test well enough the first few times you took it.

no limit to amount of times ye can do it

personally ive down it 3x, was sick the 2nd time so got around my first time only, 3rd time was a 200 point increase…

retaking the SAT costs as much as it does to just… take it… lol, therer different rates for india and pakistan but i believe the rest of the world the cost is 40 something dollars? can’t remember too clearly

Hi guys, I need URGENT HELP!
I’m an international student (Croatia). I took SAT I once and I got 1710 (cr480, ma690, wr540). I have this last chance now in January, and I doubt between taking SAT I or SAT II.
I need your advice. What do you think will the Admission Officers consider better?

1.) SAT I 1710 and 3 SAT II 700+ or
2.) SAT I 1900

I’m applying to Villanova, Macalester, Oberlin, Lafayette, Lehigh, Colgate, Gettysburg, Trinity University, St. Olaf.
Also my GPA 4.0, strong EC’s, 10% of class, need financial aid.

as much as i don’t like thread hijacking…

@papirnati
do any of the colleges specifically ask for SAT 2s? because if none of them need it, then improving on your SAT 1 is the way 2 go, seeing as the rest of your application seems to be set

thank you bballer92
sry for the hijacking…as you can see I’m new to this forum…won’t happen again ;)

I could care less about hijacking, but do you know if Barbara requires all scores?

I’m sorry I meant to say harvard instead of barbara?
