Retaking SATS

hey all

wondering, how do colleges, the top and the mid level, view retakes of the SATI and the SATIIs?

thanks

I don't think they look down upon it. They can see all of them, but they usually look at the best one.

I think most "upper tier" schools expect serious applicants to take the SATI more than once. Our experience has been that for many kids it might be a good idea to take their first SATI in January of their junior year (or earlier) just to get used to the new format, shed some test anxiety and learn to pace yourself. I was aware from lurking here on CC for the past year how grueling the new SATI can be. Even though I made sure my D was aware that she was in for a long day and tried to prepare her for it, she started gasping for air (figuratively) shortly after hour 4. She learned a lot from that experience and will be much better prepared when she takes the test again next week.
