Retaking the math IIc???

I recently got my Math IIc score back and I got a 770. I'm wondering now whether or not to retake it. I have a few ivy leagues/ivy-caliber schools in my apps, like Dartmouth, Stanford, maybe Cornell.

My stats on other SATs thus far are:
SAT I: 2260 end of soph year (770 M, 740 CR, 750 W)
SAT II eng lit: 800

I don't know if I should put that extra effort into retaking the math IIc, concentrating on my third SAT II, retaking the 1st SAT (although I REALLY don't want to do that, but I may as 2260 won't cut it), or just put it into school. Any thoughts?

Not to be rude, but are you serious?!?!?!? A 770 is a pretty spectacular score, I really don't see why you would be compelled to retake, but hmm, if you feel the pressure to then go for it, though I don't think it's really necessary since it's generally true that scores over 700 on subjects tests keeps you competitive and over 750 give you an edge, so I don't see exactly why you would need to retake.

I'd kill for a 770...

I don't think a retake is necessary, but I think the question definitely has validity. Math IIC has the highest mean score out of any SAT other than the Asian languages. A 770 on Math IIC is still good, but I would be surprised if a 770 even put him over the 75th percentile. A perfect score is only something like the 88th percentile. The scores for Math IIC are so consistently high that even at a 780 or possibly even a 790 I wouldn't think it was stupid for someone to ask about retaking it. I don't think it's at all necessary, but it's like asking if you should retake a 2200. Odds are it's good enough for any school, but there are places where that score certainly isn't going to help your cause.

At a school like MIT or Caltech, a 770 on Math IIC certainly isn't going to impress. However, I still say you'll be fine with that score.

Depends on your field. If you are thinking about engineering/math/comp science/physics, I'd definitely retake since so many people will have perfect 800 (12 % as I remember). If you are going into political science/english/etc, 770 is just as good as 800.
