Retaking the SAT/ACT as a 2nd year college student??

I need some helpful opinions. I will be applying to numerous universities this upcoming spring in hopes of gaining acceptance for the fall 07' semester. My college performance from an accredited 4-year university has been significantly outstanding and it is of no concern regarding my chances. However, my high school low SAT scores from 2 years prior could prove to be the death of chances. Whom hear supports the decision to retake the SAT now as a 20-year-old college sophomore? Moreover, being that I have only previously taken the SAT, which one should I take? Should I give the ACT a shot? Thanks for your help......

i took the act as a 1st year.

How were your scores?

If you feel you can do better, it doesn't hurt to retake it.

1100 On the SAT. With a college GPA after a year and a half of 3.935, I really think those scores will bring me down......

Wegmanstuna: I'm in your EXACT same position, same SAT score, same GPA, same college standing, same plans of transferring, though i'm an URM. I don't know what to do either..

However, some colleges do require the SAT/ACT for transfers and some of them don't. I guess my best chance would be to apply to a univ. that doesn't require test scores for transfers or at least doesn't focus much on them.

Good luck, and tell me what you decide to do!

I'm sorry to hear that your in the same position as me, it's very frustrating. However, I do think I'm going to take the ACT this February. Reason being is that my dream is to go to Upenn next fall and they require you send either the SAT or the ACT scores. Also what is a URM???

hey all, its fanstatic we have the same situation, i'm tending take SAT I again this fall

Hey same situation for me too!

GPA: 3.91 after 3 semesters at ASU

SAT: Never took it!

I have really put this off but I am taking it at the end of Jan, I think that is when. Anyway, I am having a tough time getting my apps together not knowing what my score is. I am confident it will be decent enough that I would apply anyway but still, I hate asking profs for recs when I don't even know how good my chances are.

Applying to chicago, geargetown, usc, rice, columbia gs, possibly others.

Don't bother retaking the SAT. In transfer student admissions, schools look more at your major, the rigor of the coursework taken, and your grades and G.P.A more than your High School Stats.
