Retaking the SAT? -- with a better ACT score

So I've been trying to decide if I should retake the SAT or not. What I'd need to retake it for would be the Critical Reading section -- I got a 700 on it.

The thing is, I'm normally very good at CR. I got 77/80 on that section of the PSAT, will colleges see that?

The other thing is, I took the ACT and got a 35, with a 34 reading score. Do colleges really consider only the better score of the ACT/SAT -- what if they ask specifically for all test scores, so I have to send in my SAT?

I know where I want to go already and the current plan (that has been in place for quite a while) is to apply ED there. I have a lot of things going for me, I think, a lot of things that'll set me apart from the rest outside of my scores. I'm just nervous that this'll be a huge factor against me, especially because the average CR score of students at the school I'm going to ED to is 740.

Just use the ACT. They can’t make you send both.

^^^Ditto Erin’s Dad, just send the ACT, you don’t have to send anything more.

oh yeah 700 CR isnt up to par at all, def retake them

just send the ACT.

my high school puts SAT scores on your transcript for some strange reason. I remember begging my guidance counselor to put my ACT instead or remove the SAT scores and she wouldn’t do it

Regardless, my ACT was much much better than my SAT. For most of my schools my ACT was the 75% or above whereas my SAT was the 25% or below. I got into 9/10 schools I applied to.

I did, since I figured they were going to see my SAT scores anyways when I send them my SATIIs, so I just spiffed it up. I got a 35 on my ACT too, but when I took the SAT a bit later my scores went up to 2330, so eh, I think it was worth it.
