If I already took the SAT I once and I got a 2270 (Math 740, CR 730, Writing 800) and I took the ACT and got a 33 Composite, 35 Math and 33 English should I retake one? My overall score on the SAT is good but I'm afraid that because a lot of colleges don't look at the writing section that my score of 1470 isn't good enough. I'm applying to top-tier schools like UPenn, Dartmouth, and Brown.

If you want to take it again, go ahead. It’s unlikely to make much difference to your chances though.

My son is a Junior and in October, he got the same score 2270, but M710. CR760, W800. He will retake in Dec. 5, hopely the math can be improved.
