Retaking the Test

Is there any problem with say taking the test 4 or 5 times. Is there a limit or is there one planned to be implemented any time soon. Has any one taken the test over 3 or 4 times.

are you planning to send in all your scores?

There is no limit. My daughter has a friend that took it something like 7-8 times (basically everytime it was offered for a couple years). She figured with score choice, she might as well. However, I think she went overboard. Her score pretty much topped out and didn't move after that.

If you can improve your score (or think you can), there is no problem with taking the test again. But I don't see the point of banging your head against a brick wall either ...

Before taking it lots of times, you might want to check with your high school to see if they report all standardized test scores in what they send to colleges. If so, you could not list the high school in your registration. That way, the college will just see the scores you choose to send them directly from ACT.

The ACT is different than the SAT in that colleges cannot see how many times you've taken it and you choose your best score (from one sitting/one test date) to send in. If you think taking it more times will help, go for it, there is no limit.
