Hello all, I'm hoping there might be some help out there:

I was not a pre-med student, and never intended to go to med school until now, a year out of undergrad. Is there a way to get back on track? I am a recent graduate from an Ivy League school where I studied finance and have been working in finance. I never knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life (I was in finance just for the money) until recently after a two month long backpacking life-changing/philosophically-enlightening journey through Asia/SEAsia forced me to realize how precious life is, and how I would love to be able to help those in need. I have near perfect SAT scores, which leads me to believe I'll have a high aptitude for the MCAT, but a 2.9 gpa plagues my resume. I was a varsity athlete (national champion) all throughout college and know how it is to work my a$$ off (pulled off 4.0 senior year) and am willing to do whatever it takes.

Apologies for the long story, but can anyone tell me if there is hope? Could I take pre-med classes part time somewhere to qualify? Is there a specific school that is designed for late-bloomers like me? Any help would be more than appreciated...

Thanks in advance,
D
