Retire Coach Bowden Movement

^Correct. USF is merely the latest in a series of performances which are considered significantly sub-par by alumni and fans. Not the least of which was the hiring of Bowden’s son as offensive coordinator when any extremely competent coordinator would have likely jumped to work with the FSU program.

I keep reading the thread title as “Bowel Movement”.

Great news!!! :D

“Right now I think you know where I’m leaning,” Bowden said. “I’m leaning toward coming back [next season].”

Uh, sorry Coach Bowden…your contract will NOT be renewed. Seems your performance has slipped FOR THE PAST EIGHT OR NINE YEARS!!!

However, as we see that UF fans support your staying on…we’d be glad to transfer you to UF (I’m sure they’ll allow you to hire your complete staff, including Jeff) when Urban Meyer goes to Notre Dame.

Coach Bowden seems to be stalling and doesn’t seem in a rush to go anywhere, determined to get 400 wins or edge out Joe Paterno in career wins.

What would happen if FSU beats UF in the swamp the last game this season? Would trustees still tell Coach Bowden to: “Clean out your desk, take your statue and field with you, and don’t let the turnstile hit you in the rear on the way out!”

Yes. Even if his team defeats UF. There is no future with Bowden at the helm. He’s already established this fact.

He may have a future at UF, however. :D

Here’s another interesting article on the subject: [Scout.com: What’s Wrong with the FSU Defense? Part I](<a href=“Noles 247 Home - Florida State Seminoles Football & Recruiting”>Noles 247 Home - Florida State Seminoles Football & Recruiting)

Great article!

Wow. Great article. The link is part I and at the end of part I there is a link to part II. I learned a lot about football reading both parts. I feel even a little more discouraged, though. If defense is not going to change with the times, and not going to be able to handle the spread offense, nothing is going to change…at least not any time soon. X’s and O’s are getting more complicated each season.
