Retracting Berkeley SIR

<p>So I SIR'd to Berkeley last week or so because I didn't really want to pay the extra tuition for Cornell. I've been pretty excited for Cal and was really looking forward to attending there for Fall semester. However, I just talked to my supervisor at the company I intern for and she said I can now qualify for the tuition reimbursement program. That would be an extra $5000 - $9000 (possibly more), added to a $2000 scholarship, and the rest my parents said they will pay.</p>

<p>After looking at the new costs, I can definitely see myself going to Cornell. I understand I will lose my SIR deposit, but that's not that important to me. So how exactly do I retract my SIR? My student portal at Cal has been pretty buggy lately and it keeps logging me out, so would it be possible to do it over phone/fax/in person? More importantly, WHEN is the last date to do this?</p>

<p>I would, but it’s after 4 pm :(. I plan on calling them Monday morning, but I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this.</p>

<p>I’m in the same boat. I’m going to retract my SIR from Berkeley for Cornell. (Just sent in Cornell’s deposit yesterday.)</p>

<p>From what I understand, this isn’t a much of an issue.</p>

<p>haha Guys don’t worry about it! It won’t jeopardize your admission status in this case! Just call admissions on Monday :)</p>

<p>Haha, I’m not worrying about it at all. I sent in my deposit to Cornell a few months ago (I deferred to fall) and I already sent my SIR to Cal. If they were going to rescind me, they would have by now :P.</p>
